Windows Point of Sale Invoicing Module Released!
The long-awaited launch of Windows Point of Sale is finally here, and we promise you it was worth the wait. Our DOS Point of Sale has long been a market leader, so we took the best of that world, added all the best that the Windows interface could provide, and mixed in hundreds of new and improved features that you and other users have been requesting for years. You'll find lots of information about the new module on our website, including video walk-throughs and a trial version you can download, but we can't resist throwing in just a few bulletpoints right here:
  • Can be run in live or batch update mode at the user's preference

  • Incredibly detailed and flexible security settings for clerks

  • No sacrifice in processing convenience in Windows -- in fact you can create a complete invoice in PI with fewer keystrokes than in DOS Point of Sale

  • Integrated invoice emailing support

  • Better integration of credit card processing

  • Better support for POS-related hardware (receipt printers, pole displays, card swipers, etc.)

  • Customer Expert included, like Inventory Expert for customers (not included with Limited Edition)

  • Incredibly flexible management reporting -- far, far stronger than the DOS product

  • Charts and graphs that allow you to monitor your sales activity graphically

  • More robust presets

  • Integrated transaction archiving -- no separate companies needed

  • Integrated remote operations support -- run PI at multiple physical locations (not included with Limited Edition)

  • Multi-currency support

  • Integrated graphical and bar code invoice forms

The product is offered in two editions:

  • Point of Sale Invoicing: $1,195; includes unlimited remote processing license plus Customer Expert application

  • Point of Sale Invoicing Limited Edition: $695, licensed only for a single physical location, doesn't include remote processing capabilities or licensing, doesn't include Customer Expert application.

New Version of System Manager Released

Yes, we released a new version of System Manager just a few weeks ago, but frankly we messed up and we apologize. System Manager is where all of our online documentation is kept, and the material for Point of Sale Invoicing was not yet complete then. Now it is, and a new version of System Manager is available as a free download, or can be ordered on CD from your dealer.

New Version of Windows Inventory Released
  • Item Master (program 1) allowed a serialized item to be set as a Build at Time of Sale = Yes assembly item. This is not a valid item type.

  • The Vendor Master report was missing the Minimum Order and Reorder Quantity fields that were added in the Windows product.

  • Inventory Expert (program 40) was enhanced so that when launched from another RTS-Advantage program that program can specify the Inventory company to be opened -- previously the currently active Inventory company was assumed.

New Versions:

IN01: 5.02
IN40: 5.01
IN00PL: 4.09

The patch can be downloaded or you can order an updated CD from your dealer.
