Tax Tables

Starting in 2012, Payroll tax tables are distributed with the eFile Prep module. In order to update your tax tables past 2011, please purchase that product. Tax table updates past 2011 are not available for download from the website.

The current version of the ADPRTXTB file is 4.32

To install this patch, download the ADPRTXTB.DAT file to your AFILES directory, allowing it to overwrite, if applicable, the existing ADPRTXTB.DAT file. Then, to update the tables in your Payroll data, follow these instructions.

Updated tables for 2012 - FICA Social Security (two employee tables -- one for Jan-Feb, one for the rest of the year), Federal Withholding, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, North Dakota, New York (state and Yonkers), Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico (warning -- official tax tables are 'math-challenged' and so compliance is hard to gauge), Rhode Island, Vermont. Connecticut has made changes, but tables will only be supplied on request.

Updated tables for 2011 - FICA Social Security (now two tables, separate for employee and employer), Federal Withholding, Arizona (new 0.8% option table), California, Colorado, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan (separate tables for January-September use and October-December use), Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, New York (updated New York City tables only), Oregon (now three tiers, 0-$50k, $50-145k and $145k+), Rhode Island, West Virginia (state did not change but tables revised for better accuracy).

NOTE: In order for these tables to function properly, you must also have your version 4 software current as of Patch 36. The tables have a new prompt at the end to accomodate EIC calculations which required programming changes throughout the module. Click here here to learn more.

These changes are in response to the recently enacted stimulus package. The IRS asks that employers begin using these tables in liew of the previously published tables as soon as possible, but no later than April 1, 2009.

The Louisiana tables are not required until July 1, 2009, but it is our understanding that users may begin using them before that date; the tax rate changes will be applied to the entire year when filing tax returns in 2010. Please consult your Roundtable dealer or your accountant for details.

Both the Louisiana and Missouri tables use the FWT deductions in their calculations, so be sure to note the deduction numbers listed on the existing tables before deleting them. This is discussed in the tax table update instructions.

NOTE: In order for the Utah tables to function properly, you'll also need to have your version 4 software current as of Patch 35. The Utah taxes required a change to the way tables are entered and calculated, so the new Utah tables will not work properly unless you are current as of this patch. click here here to learn more.

As of 17-DEC-07, Maryland had not released updated tables for 2008 but has announced that changes are coming.

have been replaced with a single file, ADPRTXTB that contains all tax tables.
In order to use this new file, your software must be current as of patch 28.

NOTE: Oklahoma has simplified their tax calculation so that it now requires
only two tables, one for married and one for single employees.

DECEMBER 19, 2005: Updated Federal Withholding tables for 2006.

DECEMBER 28, 2005: Added new 3% table for St. Mary's county in Maryland for 2006. Overall, Maryland is not changing rates for 2006, but the 3.05% rate has been lowered to 3%. The 3.05% table is still listed but a new table
for 3% has been added. Use whichever table is appropriate for your situation.

Also added updated tables for Missouri and Vermont effective January 1, 2006.

NOVEMBER 7, 2005: Updated the OASDI limit for 2006 and added new 2006 tables for New York.

OCTOBER 18, 2005: Corrected a problem on Mississippi Married tables. The State Exempt line had "12" where it should have had "12,000". All four Mississippi tables have been changed in order to maintain consistent naming protocols in Payroll program 58. There was no change to the calculation.

JULY 20, 2005: Added new table for Kentucky that is effective immediately.

MAY 2, 2005: Added new tables for Idaho that take effect as of January 1, 2005. The state says that no retroactive adjustments are required but employers should begin using the new tables immediately.

MAR 4, 2005: Added new tables for Iowa which take effect April 1, 2005. Note that previously Iowa had 4 tables; these have been consolidated so that now only 2 are required. Each table expects both FWT deductions rather than a separate table for single and married.

JAN 25, 2005: Added adjusted table for Montana. This table goes into effect immediately.

JAN 6, 2005: Added current tables for the District of Columbia.

JAN 4, 2005: Added current tables for Oklahoma. Note that in order for the Oklahoma tables to calculate as accurately as possible, you should enter one less state exemption in the Employee Master than is claimed by the employee on form W4.
