The new edition of RTS-Advantage eFile, which will be available starting December 26 2011, supports the latest changes in eFile requirements for tax year 2011/12. But the exciting news is that we have added the capability for printing your hardcopy W-2s, W-3s, 1099-MISC and 1096s in addition to the eFile capabilities.
In Roundtable's effort to move functionality to Windows, especially important are functions that most benefit from the Windows interface. Printing form-fill (and even actual forms) is a natural for the far stronger and more flexible Windows printing interface. Therefore, the W2 printing previously done in Payroll, and the 1099-MISC printing previously done in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and General Ledger can now be done in the Windows eFile module. The process is simplified and streamlined, and getting the form-fill to fit properly on pre-printed forms is a simpler matter, made easy with a walk-through of the process in our newly expanded and updated help system.
We are also making our first major foray into printing actual forms through the software. The new eFile package comes with the ability to print the actual forms (not just form-fill) for W-2 copies 1, 2, B, C and D. Unfortunately we cannot offer this functionality yet for 1099-MISC (the government requires a non-standard paper size) or W2 copy A (special red ink required). However, the government does have a recently enacted program under which we can register an alternative W2 copy A form, and we are looking into that for next year.
Since we at Roundtable would like our users to take advantage not only of the convenience of eFiling, but the new solution for printing paper W2s and 1099s, we are significantly reducing the price of our eFile module. Previously $695, the suggested retail price for the 2011/2012 edition is just $175 -- that's 75% less than last year!
