This patch has been compressed with the PKZip utility. After downloading, you must decompress it before installing it with the DeltaDOS program.

This patch affects not only programs, but also data files in the SYS and DATA directories. The above link (PATCH38.ZIP) is rather large because it contains all the files updated by this patch. If you would rather download the files for each directory separately (which are smaller), use the links below:

38PROGS.ZIP

Contains the PATCH38.DPF file which is used by DeltaDOS to update the program files.

Copy this file to the APROGS directory, decompress it and install the Patch38.DPF file with the DeltaDOS program.

38DATA.ZIP

Contains sample data files with new help articles and updated data.

Copy this file to the AUSER directory, decompress it and allow it to overwrite the existing files.

38SYS.ZIP

Contains system data files such as FR, PL and SCFM files.

Copy this file to the AFILES directory, decompress it and allow it to overwrite the existing files.

UNIX Users: This patch is not available for download from our website. Please contact your dealer for additional information.

Patch 38 incorporates the following changes:

Update: The General Ledger Report Generator dictionary has had flag fields for Entry Updated and Employee Updated added, and the maximum printing size of the Entry Description was enlarged from 21 to 25 characters.
New Feature: Payroll graduated tax tables can now be based on graduated amounts, flat amounts and flat percentages in addition to graduated percentages.
New Feature: Payroll's Certified Payroll report has been changed to conform to new law now in effect that only the last 4 digits of employee Social Security numbers are printed.
Update: Payroll tax tables were updated for compatibility with new feature of multiple table types.
Update: Bank Reconciliation's reconciliation report was enhanced to provide more flexibility for users who do mid-month updates of their General Ledger.
Update: Relink was updated for compatibility with new Point of Sale Invoicing module.
Fix: Changed terminal dates did not immediately refresh on main program screens.
Update: Many data files updated for use with new Point of Sale Invoicing module.

How To Install Patch 38
	This patch is available in one of two forms: either download the PATCH38.ZIP file which contains the program patch as well as the System and Data files, or separately download the files 38PROGS.ZIP, 38SYS,ZIP and 38DATA.ZIP. In either case, these instructions can be followed for loading the patch after downloading the file(s).
	The PATCH38.ZIP contains the following files:
		PATCH37.DPF	The patch file used to update the program files; copy it to the APROGS directory and install with DeltaDOS.
		38SYS,ZIP	Copy this file to your SYS directory (the AFILES directory) and decompress it, allowing it to overwrite existing files.
		38DATA.ZIP	Copy this file to your DATA directory (the AUSER directory) and decompress it, allowing it to overwrite existing files.
	If you chose to download the ZIP files for each directory separately, copy the 38PROGS.ZIP file to the APROGS directory, decompress it into the PATCH38.DPF file, then use the DeltaDOS program to install the patch.

To apply all the changes in this patch, follow these steps:

As always, before loading any new software, make a backup of your data files.

Decompress PATCH38.ZIP into the APROGS directory, or, if you downloaded separate files, decompress the 38PROGS.ZIP file into the APROGS directory.

Move the 38DATA.ZIP file to the AUSER directory and move the 38SYS.ZIP file to the AFILES directory.

Go to the AUSER directory and decompress the 38DATA.ZIP file, allowing it to overwrite existing files.

Go to the AFILES directory and decompress the 38SYS.ZIP file, allowing it to overwrite existing files.

Go to the APROGS directory and use the DeltaDOS Utility to apply the DPF patch file. Click here for instructions on using DeltaDOS.

For Screen Builder Users: Because of changes to the screen layout held within the updated Payroll SCFM file, you'll need to update your custom SCFM file for Payroll. IF YOU HAVE NOT CUSTOMIZED the Tax Table screens, you won't lose anything!

The specific programs affected are:

Payroll 2, Tax Tables: New prompt to define Table Type added to Brackets screen.

If you have customized screens in Payroll program 2, you will lose those customizations and will have to redo them after applying this patch and updating the SCFM files through Screen Builder.
