Custom Lookups

The look-up windows available throughout the product can be customized to your own preferences. All lookup windows contain one or more required key fields,plus additional fields that you select. All fields, both key fields and description fields, can be resized to your liking.

The Custom Look-Up program allows you to:

• Set the description fields that are to be displayed
• Resize the description and key fields
• Customize the names of the fields that appear at the top of the look-up lists

The Custom Look-Up program assumes that you use both the DOS and Windows versions of RTS-Advantage. Because of this assumption you are limited in the total number of fields and the width of fields that you can specify in the Windows version. However, when you are accessing a look-up window in the Windows version you can resize both the window itself and the display width of the fields and these settings will be saved for subsequent access. Therefore if you use the Windows version only you can specify many description fields in this program, size them small enough to be compatible with the DOS version, but then widen them out when you go to the actual lookup window.

Above is just an example of what you can do with your lookup windows. No longer are you limited to the 80-character width of the DOS product!
