Yes, assemblies are explosions! We've changed the name in the Windows version to this more standard term.

We've improved the Assemblies program by offering you the ability to automatically recalculate costs, markups, selling prices and weights when you define or edit an assembly relationship. While you could get all this functionality by running the Calculate Assembly Values program, why should you have to run that every time you change an assembly? This new feature allows you the options of recalculating the parent cost based on the average or current costs of the child items, adjust the parent pricing or markup, and update the weight of the parent. All modifications made are relative to the current settings, so don't worry about us messing up your settings -- we recognize that costs, prices and weights are not necessarily the exact sum of the listed parts!

And of course if you'd rather handle all this manually, or by running the Calculate Assembly Values program, you can turn off this functionality if you prefer.
